  1. Hopefully Hamdan can show his true talent this time like how he fought in 2006 in langkawi. If not he will be crush by Tengku again. After Cheras i actually prefer the guy who beat IDDI seledang kuning.

  2. Jeri should be there, not Hamdan.
Fighters shud be selected based on current form, not based on their past.
Who cares about Langkawi 2006 ?!?!

  3. I agree with Anon. Jeri should be there instead of hamdan. Unless malaysia tigers have other plan for jeri??? From my experience of organizing events it's actually quite tough to find good malaysian fighter with the weight of 72kg. Most of good names are import players from south thailand but using malay names.

  4. Iddy Selindang Kuning, Kudin, Che Pol are all missing ?!
These are also good and experienced fighers
I am going to skip goign to Kl to watch the qualifiers.

Alif is there ! Oh my God.
    Muhammad Azwan Zamri is there!
Azwan WHO? With just 5 fights, I dont understand how he is selected.
Can the selectors pls enlighten us with their selection criteria?

  5. When i did the event at shah alam we know is tough to get fighter for contender. Iddi is 63kg kudin is 60 kg and chepol is not even a malaysian. The first criteria pls correct me if im wrong is the fighter should be min 67kg and max 72kg.

  6. Oh Okay...thanks for the explaination. The 67-72kg criteria helps to answers many questions.

My personal opinion, the best pound for pound muay thai fighter in Malaysia is not Pokku, not Bernard not Faizal....it's Md Ali of Malaysian Tigers.
Too bad, he is below 67kg.

I don't belong to any gym, so there's no 'biaseness'.

  9. Saya buat some googling. Wow kalau berat 67 kg pun boleh lupakan hajat nak lawan dengan juara contender russia atau UK. Tengok badan diaorang macamana.. 72 kg pun badan mantap.

  10. Does anyone know what is Jeri's weight ?? Is it between 67-72kg?

  11. Dear Moderator,

As Jeri belongs to Muay Thai tigers, I'm sure you have 'inside info' on why Jeri's name was left out. Care to share with us?
Is his weight outside the requirement?

  13. Zeri personally doesn't feel he is ready for Contender Asia 2. I personally feel he is as good as some of the challengers but we have to respect his decision.A mature decision for an 18 year old guy.

  14. I think this boy has the potential to go far ...

  15. We all see potential in Zeri and he is well taken care of. Thank you all for you support for Zeri and I'm sure you'll see a lot of him in the future.

Errr...did Hamdan say he is ready for Contender Asia? After falling all over the place in his recent fight, I think he shud realize he shouldn't go anywhere near Contender Asia.
Zeri, I love you, my man.
    Pls reconsider your decision.

    A Zeri fan,
    Kelantan.

  17. Zeri will be very pleased to hear he has so many fans. Thank you for supporting him.Though I'm sure he'd be upset to hear his praise is at the expense of his team mate and friend Hamdan.

They are both nice guys training hard and sacrificing a lot being away from loved ones etc. So lets give all these fighters encouraging words and support.

Hey one day you're up, another day you're down. Lets support our Malaysian fighters regardless.

  18. Doesn't Azwan have a better picture?!?! Look at Hamdan's picture...he looks like a warrior.

Azwan looks so dizzy so sleepy, like he's about to be knocked out.
He does not have the mean look.

  20. Nice Nightsky,

    Malaysia's most wanted :)
Sure you can use the pictures, u did ask.
Maybe I can use your poster our blog?

If you don't mind, can you email it to me?

  21. Sure SA. Please send me your email address... mine is nyghtsky@gmail.com

Good comments Nightsky, some of the comments we receive are so negative or irrelevant it's nice to have someone actually think first and put together something constructive and someone who actually comments with his own identity.

To those of you out there with positive or constructive comments/criticism, thanks.

To those of you out there who are so negative or just down right aggressive, I have a responsibility as the moderator of this blog, to not tarnish the integrity of this site just for the sake of sensationalism :)

  23. Thanks for the compliment SA! I'm just an avid Muaythai and Contender Asia fan.. I don't care too much for the petty bickering or politics, and have nothing to sell... Cheers on a great website! Take care... Go Malaysia!

  24. SA,

Unfortunately you did not publish Nightsky's comments. Pls publish, so that we can use it as a benchmark of how future comments.
    should be.

By the way, what happens if Hamdan is paired off to fight with Faizal?
Are they going to go all-out, or...
is Hamdan going to do a disappearing act like what he did
in Bukit Jalil some months ago in his semifinal fight against Faizal?

I'll lodge a 'missing person's report' with the police if that happens! Not fair to other challengers.

  25. Mesti hamdan & faizal dalam group berbeza. I doubt they will see each other in final. But if they do then they have to fight i guest..
