Malaysia the Surprise Team at Arafura Games

Malaysia hasn’t been known as a powerhouse in the sport of Muaythai but this changed at this year’s Arafura Games. The Malaysian National team was the surprise package of the competition surprising spectators with outstanding results and sportsmanship. The team won two gold medals, one silver, two Bronze and earned an award for being the most improved muaythai team.

Even the Australian team captain had to bow down to Malaysia in the Final after losing a point decision in front of a packed stadium on Thursday night. Malaysia has a great future in the sport and the world has taken note of the Malaysian Tigers.

Dear Tigers

Congratulations to everyone. Good team efford and yeah i heard a lot of good things about you guys in Darwin from the government officials. Im just curious and dont understand on one thing. Other promoters make events to make money, sell DVD's, thirts etc and promo their gym for revenue but you guys dont do all this stuff and still surviving and doing extremely good. Whats your secret? Other sports or martial arts takes years to bring back medal in a world championship but you guys did it on a first attempt in Korea! How is all this possible. Do yo guys get funds from government? impossible as we are an olympic sport and we dont get anything. Politicians? I will fall in love with him (is it a he or she) if he/she supports my sport like what he/she did to yours. SA please a quick explaination.

Anyone can support a team that is winning - it takes no courage. But to stand behind a team to defend a team when it is down and really needs you, that takes a lot of courage.

All the best Malaysian Tigers!!!

I will always support you guys through think and thin!

The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender!
